Saverio Fiore is Senior Researcher at the Institute of Methodologies for Environmental Analysis, National Research Council of Italy (IMAA-CNR), and Head of the Micro and Biominerals for Health and Environment Research Group.
The scientific interests of Dr. Fiore have been mainly addressed to the geochemistry of clays (especially trace elements), genesis of clays, environmental geochemistry and mineralogy. Currently, he is focusing on environmental and applied mineralogy.
He has been the principal investigator of several national and international projects concerning the genesis and the synthesis of clay minerals, the mapping and the monitoring of naturally occurring asbestos and environmental geochemistry. Saverio taught at University of Basilicata and at University of Bari (Italy). He was President of the Italian Association for the Study of Clays (AISA) and is a Councillor of the International Association for the Study of Clays (AIPEA).
