'Energy and Environment: Towards a sustainable future' - Final Conference of the RE-SEEties project

After 2 years of successful implementation, the project ‘Towards resource efficient urban communities in SEE’ (RE-SEEties) with the participation of eight South East European municipalities and several professional institution partners has come to its end. Join the final conference called ‘Energy and Environment - Towards a sustainable future’ to be held in Zagreb, Croatia, on the 9th of September 2014.

As a result of the intense cooperation, this devoted partnership created strategies and action plans for their own cities based on an in-depth data collection and resource consumption forecasting procedure, and summarized the lessons learnt and their suggested methods in a Methodological Toolkit, providing useful information and tools for all local authorities in the SEE region and beyond. The project also targeted the policy level, creating a well-functioning policy framework, an EU level policy recommendation paper, reflecting the views of various stakeholders, to pave the way for the sustainability of RE-SEEties results from the viewpoint of high level policy making.

At the conference the results of the project will be presented to the wider public and to professionals not involved in the implementation, while providing a lookout to the wider European context and future cooperation opportunities with the support of acknowledged experts in the field of low carbon economies, the representatives of the funding programme, as well as the European Commissioner of DG Environment.

The conference will be bilingual (English and Croatian) and simultaneous interpreting will be provided.
