It was held in Budapest, on 25th-27th February the Launching Event of the RE-SEEties project

Resource efficiency is a top priority of the Europe 2020 Strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth as well as in the SEE policy-making agenda.

The RE-SEEties project “Towards resource efficient urban communities in SEE”, approved last Autumn under the 4th (final) call for proposals of the South East Europe Program, recognizes the key role of city leadership in achieving the EU objectives outlined by the flagship initiative ‘Resource efficient Europe’.

The projects places municipality actors in SEE in focus and investigates how to improve the integrated policy-making and strategic planning competences of SEE municipalities in the field of energy efficiency (EE), RES and waste valorisation, for the purpose of changing consumption patterns and supporting changing demands with innovative policy-making solutions, tools and incentives.

In this framework CNR-IMAA is leader of Work Package n. 4 “Strategies to enhance integrated municipality strategy and planning competences” and together with CRES (Greece) and other three knowledge institutions supports the design and implementation of strategy building in 8 SEE partner cities (Budapest HU, Potenza IT, Miercurea Ciuc/Harghita RO, Egaleo GR, Nitra SK, Ptuj SI, Zagreb County/Ivanic Grad HR, Skopje FYRO MK).

On 25th-27th February it was held in Budapest the Launching Event, the 1st Steering Committee meeting and the 1st Transnational Expert workshop of the RE-SEEties project.

The press release on the Launching event is available here.
