At IMAA there are about 150 working units, most of them young, dynamic and strongly motivated to carry out research activities: a permanent staff of 103 units (76 researchers and technologists, 23 technicians, 4 administrative employers) and about 50 non-permanent units among post-graduated fellows, PhD students, associate university professors and other collaborators. The researchers are involved in many national and international projects and they have a high scientific productivity. Within the EU Marie Curie projects and other international collaboration agreements, many young foreign researches are carrying out or carried out research activities at the IMAA laboratories. At IMAA there is great attention to the gender aspects (40% of female in the permanent staff) and 4 out of 7 research groups are coordinated by women researchers.
